A Ha! Cheri steals another iPhone...Please note Tim's new boat shoes. Thank you.

Picture from the reunion last weekend. Best party in a long time. Pic of Tim and I from the wedding we went to yesterday. I need new sunglasses.

Random pics

When are we going? My blood levels of cherry limeade are drastically low.

See you November 15th Mickey! I'm ready for my snow.

One year from this Christmas, Tim and I are going to start working on our family. Hopefully he/she won't look like this composite photo from Dave and Busters mommy what will I look like?

Spider pig, Spider pig

Today Tim and I went to Burke Williams spa for facials and massages to celebrate our anniversary. I love it there. Both therapists told Tim he needed to have a massage and a facial every month. What? Will they be paying the bill too? =) This is a luxury people!
Anyway, after our excellent morning we went to see the Simpsons movie. Tim and I of course are huge Simpsons fans and were really looking forward to this movie. It was pretty funny and they really took advantage of the PG-13 rating...as an example, they do a big scene about Bart getting naked and skateboarding through the town and they do a great job of covering up his bits and pieces. Of course, just when you think it's over they show everything. Nothing spruces up your Saturday like animated balls. =)
Oh yeah, in regards to the title of this post, go onto iTunes and look up the soundtrack to the Simpsons movie and play the track called "Spider pig". Enjoy!

Boo

We had to have our hamster honey put down last night. We think she fell and broke her back. When we got home she was all curled up in a ball and not moving. We took her to the vet and they said it was best to just help her go to sleep. Sad times in the O'Connor household.

rat-patootie

Tim and I went to see Ratatouille today. It was very cute although not the best Pixar/Disney combo as of late. Tim and I went to lunch after and spent the whole time talking about old vs new Disney cartoons. I miss the old Disney films like Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, where you knew all the words to the songs. I think that Pixar and Disney now make movies that try to appeal too much to the parents to keep them interested and that they pride themselves on having clever and witty dialogue rather than a good basic story and great music. It also seems to be about how many famous people they can have in their movies. How is it that all of us at 28 years old can sing the words to "part of your world" from The Little Mermaid? Beacuse it was a great movie with great music. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the new Pixar movies. But nothing will ever replace classic Disney for me. And just in case you are wondering, my favorite Disney movie is the Hunchback of Notre Dame (I know, obscure right =))

December 1963 (Oh what a night)

So I went to see Jersey Boys in the city today with my parents. I grew up listening to Frankie Valli so I was excited to see the interpretation of the life of the Four Seasons. So....Jersey Boys is one of the best musicals I have ever seen and I've seen a lot: Cats, Les Miz (2x), Phantom (3x), We will rock you, Lion King...this one is rapidly becoming one of my favorites. The actors were all wonderful. The singing was unbelievable. The guy that played Frankie had a falsetto just like him. It was a really great show and so much fun to listen to. I'm for sure buying the soundtrack!
Now, if I can only stop going round the house singing..Sheeeeeeeeeerrrrrrry baby! (Sherry baby)

iPhone has arrived. It is everything I hoped it would be. So exciting to use and so easy! I can't say enough good things about it. Rush out now and buy one! =)

Age of Love

Are you watching Age of Love on NBC? It's fabulous! The 40 year olds vs. the 20 year olds. The best thing about the show is the fact that they keep mentioning the ages..and one chick is only 39...last time I checked, 39 was not 40. =) Anyhoo, it's a greatly trashy show. Two thumbs up. Set your Tivo!

Our Disney Adventure

When Califoria Adventure first opened, it was kind of the ugly stepsister of the Disneyland Resort. However, it has turned into a really fun place to go. The roller coaster is so much fun and I have actually become a fan of the sunwheel that you see in the picture below.
We went on the cars that don't swing so I was happy. For those who haven't been to this park, this ferris wheel has three kinds of cars. The non-swinging types (good for me), mildly swinging and super swinging. The moving ones slide and rock back and forth. Yuck =(
Here is the roller coaster taken from the car of the ferris wheel. High up!
A nice clear shot of the new submarines. Detailed description to follow! =)

Year of a million dreams

As you can see, the Big Thunder Railroad mountain is perfectly set against the beautiful sky. Mind you, this picture was taken at 9:30 in the morning. Gotta love California.
I couldn't resist taking this picture of Tim in A Bug's Life land. I loved Dennis Leary as the ladybug and I thought this pose was perfect!

In this Bug's Life area in California Adventure, they have a lot of free running water to help you cool off. I really liked this garden hose and wound up running underneath it to get soaked. It's so much fun to watch all the kids go crazy. Although, the best part was watching some "cool" teenage kid try to duck the shooting water only to be hit squarely in the crotch. Love that Disney magic!

The groundskeeping staff never fails to amaze me.

Here is the new Monorail paint job to advertise the new subs. Snazzy!

Yo Ho Yo Ho!

Hello all! We have returned from Disneyland. I have ruined my feet and can barely walk but it was totally worth it. The weather was scorching but gorgeous. I will be adding more pictures in a bit so just bear with me! =)
Here Tim and I are in line for the Finding Nemo submarines. We waited 2 hours for this ride, but we just couldn't leave without going on it. I must say, it is a very cool ride. The beginning section is just like the old ride, with lots of fake fish and divers floating around. However, when you go through the cave, it gets really dark and there are scenes from Nemo being projected on screens underwater. It is so cool. I couldn't figure out how they did it, but I guess that is part of the Disney magic.
For those of you who haven't seen the lagoon in awhile, this is what it looks like now overhead from the Monorail!

The nose plays

Today B, Tim and i went to see Ocean's 13. I think I liked this one the best. The first one was fun because of the plot but this one was written better and had more subtle comedy. The title of this blog post comes from some witty dialogue regarding the fake nose that Matt Damon wears to con someone. Anyway, I highly recommend this movie. It is much better than the second one so don't let that one put you off this series. Go out and see it.

For Password and Threenuts: Here is your update!

This weekend was really great. I had a great dinner on Saturday night and then had a very sucessful day of shopping on Sunday. Sarah and I went to Gilroy. I haven't been there for yonx so it was really fun to go. Oh, I should back up though. Before going to Gilroy, Sarah and I went to a designer denim sale. I went along even though I knew I wouldn't be able to fit into any of the womens jeans. However, I did find success in the mens section. I have taken to wearing mens jeans lately as they seem to be the only pants that actually have a rise. Anyhoo, I bought a pair of Paper Cloth and Denim (I know Bee, I know) jeans that were originally $250 but sold for $50. Steal! After trying on these pants, I now know why these jeans cost so much. They are so soft and feel totally worn in already. I love a good bargain! Ok, so back to Gilroy. I bought two pairs of new flip flops from J Crew that are totally prepster, but I love them. Then, I found a great Coach purse. I've never been to the Coach outlet there, but it's awesome! People were buying 4 or 5 purses at a time, but I just got one. I also bought Tim a new wallet. I think my shopping day was a great success!

Things I would to work on

Get back to exercising
Write more in my journal
Spend more time improving myself
Try to learn something new everyday
Grow the practice: the patients we are seeking are seeking us
have more patience everyday
play the piano more often

Things I love

Tim
Marsha Marsha Marshmallow ice cream by Ben and Jerry's
Reading trashy beauty magazines in the bath
Drinking Champagne
Playing poker with the gang
My new hamsters
Organizing my life
Bed
Naps
The Secret
Good quality TV: AD; Firefly (my new love); Heroes, 30 Rock
The fact that when I come home at the end of the day, no matter how difficult it was or how angry/disappointed some patients made me, I know that I have made a difference in the life of someone

Exhaustion

Hello boys and girls. I don't know how people can practice on their own and see volumes of people. I've been on my own for a week and I'm pooped. I've had a headache all day that is not going away that I know is related to lack of sleep. =) This weekend is packed with seminars as well so I won't have a chance to sleep in either. =( Boo. Nap machine, GO!

I hope Lost doesn't completely suck tonight. Or else that will be another hour of my life that I demand back from ABC.

Bring on the 4 dollar churros

Tim and I have set our vacation date. We are going away from June 13-20. And where are we going? DISNEYLAND! Where else? =) We are going to spend 3 days at Disney and them come home and go to Monterey for a few days. I can't wait. It's on my calendar and I'm going to start a countdown. Mickey here we come!

Sad

Tim's car was broken into. They stole his radio and jammed something in the ignition so we think they tried to steal it. This all took place outside our condo complex. Boo. I only hope they were desperate for money so that they could feed their family. I don't want to pass judgement because you never know what situation people are in. I'm just trying to remain positive.

Sunday, April 22, 2007

Drama!

A car just crashed into the bottom condo in our complex at the intersection of Saddle Rack and Meridian. We called 911 and a firetruck and 6 police cars were at our place within 2 minutes. Tim and I were saying how nice it is to live so close to downtown San Jose. PG&E is down there right now fixing the light box that was leveled. I hope that everyone involved is ok.

We are watching the Calgary/Detroit hockey game in the hopes of figuring out who we will be playing in the next round.....Fingers crossed not Anaheim! =)

The man in the box

Go out and rent/Netflix "The Prestige". It's an excellent film. It was directed by the guy who did "Momento", which is not my favorite movie, however, The Prestige is excellent. Go get it.

Addiction

My addiction to coffee is becoming overwhelming. It is now taking over my weekends in that my first thought after I wake up is......When can I get coffee? Today I had 2 coffees. I sent my insurance girl out to get something for me about 1 hour into my shift as I thought I was going to fall over onto the patients. How odd. It's funny too because I don't use coffee for caffeine. I just love the warmth and the taste. That first sip....yum. I drink non-fat latte's by the way. Just in case any of you are by a Starbucks and wanted to nip in to give me a treat. HA! I think that I should probably put a designated amount on my Starbucks card every month and then not go over that limit. Good in theory, however, I think probably not very likely. It's probably not a good idea to deprive myself. =) God forbid I should start to have withdrawls. I may wind up at Promises like Britney, Matthew etc.. Although, now that we have a house payment, I think I can't afford the $40,000 per month charge. Too bad.

Exhaustion, yes indeed

Hello gang. I am typing this now as I sit on my couch watching Tim play God of War 2 on our new TV. It is large and shiny. It frightened me when it first came out of the box. Of course that was the one that had a dead pixel on the screen, so we had to take that one back to Best Buy. We got a new one right away. It's kinda nice to buy things in the "Magnolia" Section of Best Buy. They didn't give us any hassle.

The "rack", as I affectionately call our new home, is coming together nicely. The den (aka Bee's room) is still a mess of boxes, however, once Tim starts wall mounting TV's, all that stuff will come off the floor. Yay.

This whole experience has been great, but exhausting. Tim and I are at the end of our ropes and just need a really good night's sleep. This is all very surreal in that I can't believe that we actually own this piece of property. It feels like we are staying in a hotel and soon we will have to leave.

I am fortunate enough to be off tomorrow. First order of business, sleep. Then, I'm off to try to buy rugs. Oh yeah, this has also been the most expensive thing I have ever done. i just paid the credit card bill. If I wasn't so exhaused, I'd need drinks. However, I can barely drag my tired ass bones off to bed, let alone over to the bar cabinet. (yes, we now have a bar cabinet). Housewarming party to follow!

One week to go

Only one week to go until Saddle Rack is officially ours. I can't wait! We are going to spend the first week cleaning and then moving. I'm hoping to take a few days off to get organized. I'll post pics along the way so that I can chronicle the excitement of our first place. =) Yipeee!!!

Part deux

The master bedroom....It'll be pretty big without such a giant bed in it.

The master bathroom....you can see the reflection of the walk in closet in the mirror. I chose not to show you all the full view of the bathrooms as we are going to replace the tubs. You can come and experience the new ones!

This is the den/office/guest room. I love the french doors that open/close this room off. We are getting a new desk, small futon/couch for this room and all the non-essential game stuff will go in this room.

So that's it. Of course the pictures don't really do the place justice and I can't wait for you all to see it. We are right next to McDonald's, BK, Safeway, Quiznos, Starbucks, Walgreens and nail salon. This place was meant for me. Oh, and we're only 5 minues from Valley Fair as well. LOVE IT!

Before the masses beat me....

Here is our new kitchen. Tim is most excited about the ice machine in the fridge
Here is the view from our balcony. We can see the hills!
This is the entryway when you walk in the front door. I love the little round ceiling.
So I tried to post more pictures but Blogger is being cranky so I will put them in a separate post.
This place will be ours on March 13th. Countdown is on!

We could live in a mansion in South Dakota

Tim and I are in the process of buying a place. It is very nerve-racking and I have a lot of anxiety. All of you who own can attest to this feeling. I am truly looking forward to actually owning a small piece of this great area and I'm excited that I can do whatever I want with it.
Tim keeps on looking up places for sale in really random places outside of this area saying constructive things like "we could have 6 bedrooms and goats if we lived in (insert random state not on a coast here)...
What he says is true, however, we wouldn't be in the bay area. This has become my home and I couldn't leave it.
The one sad thing about leaving Oakwood is leaving the squirrel army that we have amassed. I am worried that they will become weak and feeble without our nourishing distribution of peanuts already de-shelled for their convenience. I asked Tim today if we could trap a few and bring them with us to the new place. He said the HOA might have a problem with that. I think he is right.

As promised, the recap

This is our hotel. When we first arrived in Park City, we unpacked quickly and threw on our long underwear. Can I just say that long underwear is the greatest invention for cold weather. We headed down to the box office on the bus and tried to get tickets. Everything was sold out, but someone offered us some tickets to a movie so we took them and then went for lunch. We went to Zoom which is Robert Redford's restaraunt. The food was great and we had a really nice meal. The first film we saw was called The Unforseen. It was about environmental change in Texas.
Here is Bianca and I while snowshoeing on Sunday. We hiked all the way up the side of a mountain and then had a chance to slide down a little way. It was a blast even though we lost a shoe or two in the process. (They were found) Park City is absolutely beautiful and just like a postcard.
Here is a picture of the famous Egyptian theatre on main street. The theatres are all spread out around the town so you have to take the bus in between. Bianca and I were the bus experts after the first day. We certainly saved ourselves some dough by taking the bus instead of taxis!
You can see how deep the snow is here. It was my first time in the snow and I really loved it. (I know, shock and awe. Lisa had fun in the outdoors)

Let it snow!

Hello boys and girls,
I have returned safely from Sundance, cold but happy. =) We had a wonderful time and saw 6 films. I will do a long post with pics as soon as I get them loaded onto the old laptop. I also need to warm up my core temperature. Ha!

Thursday, January 11, 2007

Watch out Robert Redford. I am coming for you.

I tried to buy tickets for movies at Sundance today. By the time the website starting working (30 mins past my assigned time) all the shows were sold out. What a shoddy system. I protest. When I see Robert and Paul Newman tootling around town in their hybrid truck or whatever, I will give them a piece of my mind. And also take a picture of them as I am a star stalker/lover. 7 days to Sundance!

Happy New Year

I hope you all had a safe and sound New Year's Eve. My liver is still recovering. I need to take a lot of vitamins this week as I think I did a pretty good job of pickling myself. =)

In other news, things are still up and down at work. I'm not sure what is going to happen but I'm sure it will be okay.

Tim and I took down the Christmas decorations yesterday. The dried out tree is still hanging out in the living room because we haven't thrown it over the balcony yet. I'm afraid to do it at night because we may hit someone walking a dog or something. Hmmm....it really will have to be a day operation.

I'm looking forward to 2007. Tim and I will be buying ourselves a nice cozy place. We'll be married for 2 years. I will have been at my job for 1 year in March. And in 2 weeks I will be off to Sundance with one of my homies. Watch out celebs...I'm coming for you. =)

When you wish upon a star

Only 1 more day til Disneyland! Waaaaaaah! This whole week has flown by for me as all I can think of is Disney. My parents are already down in southern Cal and will pick us up tomorrow afternoon. My favorite part of the trip is the fireworks and then at the end they shoot "snow" out of special machines. For fake snow, it sure does get me right in the gut =) I have yet to decorate the apartment so this will be a great start to the Christmas season.

As a side bar, Tim and I now know our price range for our new place...we'll start looking as soon as we are back from Disney. Put your feelers out there people...find us a place! =)

Viva Pinata

Hello boys and girls,
Once again please excuse my absence. The past week has been weird for me. I think that I mentioned in prevous posts that I've been working a lot over the past few weeks. By last Wednesday night, my body was so close to shutting down. I thought a few days of rest would pick me up but by Sunday I didn't really feel any different. On Monday, I was so stressed out that I felt like crying all the time. The smallest things would make me so mad. I still couldn't figure out what was going on with me. Then, Dr. W and I had a long talk on Tuesday and everything became so clear. This has really been a transition time for me both personally and professionally. Professional stuff I won't dwell on here because it is not right to do so. I don't want to end up like Heather B. from dooce. =) In terms of personal stuff, Tim and I are going to buying a place after Christmas and starting our lives again in a new place. It is exciting but scary at the same time. However, I noticed that after I let everything out I had so much more energy and would up cleaning like a mad person last night. I got really organized and feel great.
Tonight Tim is playing Viva Pinata which is a game about pinatas living in a garden, or something like that...=) There is a video game for everything now.
Anyway, I'm off to the bath as it is colder than all get out in the apartment. TTFN.

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope that everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I am planning on sleeping quite a bit the next 3 days to make up for all the lack of sleep from the last 2 weeks. I will emerge occasionally for coffee and slushies (lemon =) and pie and.....more pie.

Dinner

I had a rough day.
I ate chocolate chips for dinner with a glass of milk.
They were good.

Casino Royale

Tim and I just back from the new Bond movie Casino Royale. It was fantastic. I was a little skeptical but I have to say that it was really great. Plus, Daniel Craig is freakin HOT! At first I was kinda like "eh" but then when he came out of the ocean in his little europop tight swimming trunks, I was hooked! =) Double Yum. Anyway, I think this is one of the best Bond movies ever! Get out there and oggle his body girls!

Wednesday, November 15, 2006

And inside the man, you find his....nucleus.

I am watching Nacho Libre while working as Tim and I both fell asleep the other night when we first got it. I've forgotten how hi-larious this movie is. I usually hate Jack Black but I don't mind him with an accent. =)

Tomorrow we are going to talk at Cisco. I'm very excited about this as the potential for patients is huge. It's good that I am going along because I never get nervous while speaking in pubic so hopefully I can offer some support to the other doc.

Tim and I are having Thanksgiving at our house this year. I ordered my Turkey and pies today from PW market. They have a full turkey ready to pick up and eat along with delicious pies. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving. Dr. W is giving me Friday off so I get a nice 4 day vacay. Then, 2 weeks later.....DISNEYLAND!

I know I promised pictures....they are for sure coming. I just have to transfer them from my camera. =)

Thank you

Just a quick post to say thank you to everyone who made my birthday special. Bee, Sarah, Tim, Cheri, Eric and Chris. Thanks. =) Pictures to follow....

Gears of War

The title of this post is apt as Tim is currently playing the newest Xbox 360 phenom. It is by far the best game for the 360 until Halo 3 next year. Me, I'm a Halo girl myself. I'm getting a sweatshirt made that says Girl Gamer, Your game or mine? on it....geek chic, I know. PS. the best part of Gears of War is the song they use in the commercial on TV. You'll all be hearing soon if you haven't yet.

Today was the first day that the two new girls worked alone. Everything is going well. We saw 52 patients. Dr. Lisa is exhausted....but content.

Only 1 more day of being 26. The baby of the group is growing up =)

Since this week has been hectic, Tim and I had a date tonight at TGI Friday's and talked about all the good memories we had there since we met. We've celebrated so many birthdays there. Tim met his life partner Steve there for the first time. (Tim was drinking a drink with an umbrella in it that freaked out Steve. =) Ha! Anyway, back to the story. Tim was kind enough to get me a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure at Lavande as an early birthday treat. My husband knows me well. (Bianca, "don't get married" is retracted for this period of time =))

Anyway, looking forward to my hot dogs and nachos on Friday. I'm betting on any horse with a name Lemon. All you devotees out there get your horse picks ready. It's almost post time!

God talks through poop

Last night Tim, Bianca and I went to see Running with Scissors. Tim was a good sport and came along with us. He hasn't read any of the books that B or I have, but he came anyway. While I know that RWS won't appeal to most people who are not fans of Augusten, but I'm glad that Ryan Murphy (nip/tuck creator) made it into a movie. It was funny though, as he used music in the movie the same way he does in nip/tuck. There is always music playing that compliments the situation well. Plus, I have a small crush on the actor who played Augusten. Very cute.

I had my weekend nap today. Devotees will remember that I usually nap on Sunday during sports, however, Tim is having a co-worker over tomorrow so I can't very well be drooling on the couch when he is here. Anyhoo, we went to the office this morning and Tim helped me move stuff around to get organized for our new staff. They are starting on Monday. I'm excited.

I'm going to get started cleaning the house now. I've been putting it off for a few days but I gotta bust that vacuum out now. I have half an hour until the Sharks game is on so I'd better get cracking! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Peace out.

The times they are a'changing

Things are turning over at work. We'll be getting 2 new people soon. I'm nervous but excited. Emphasis on nervous. I know that this will all be for the better in the end. It always is...right?

As promised

Our first picture is from the Bellagio gardens. Tim has a knack for taking pictures with his arm stuck out in front of us.This was the view from the front of the hotel. I highly recommend Paris and would stay there again.
The gorgeous family shot in the Bellagio lobby. Note my dad's new movie star teeth. Not bad for a coal miner from middle England.

Today has been an interesting day and I've spent some time browsing the internet. I'm toying with the idea of starting a journal. While I know the blog is supposed to be a form of journal writing, I also think that we all have some things that we have to say but only in private. This brings me to my next point. Everyone should visit postsecret This format was used in the video for the song "dirty little secret" where people held up cards in front of their face that said things they had always wanted to say. This had got me thinking. What would my postcard say? In fact, what would yours?

The Red Piano

Tim and I are back from Vegas. What a great weekend. We went to see Elton John on Friday night and then saw Phantom of the Opera on Satuday night. In between, we shopped at the Forum and walked our asses off. My dogs are barking! =) Unfortunately, we didn't come away with any big winnings but we did get to play all our favorite machines. Pictures to follow...

pooped

We saw 69 patients today. I did 2 re-exams and 4 new patient exams. Yay for us...but now I'm pooped. pooped!

Castaway

Much to our delight, TNT is now in hi def on comcast. Subsequently, they are showing movies around the clock. Right now Castaway is on. I have never seen this movie in full but I like the few bits I have seen. Tim just asked me if I thought i would go crazy on an island by myself. I actually think I wouldn't. I really enjoy being alone. i don't know if it stems from me being an only child but I would think so. The only thing I might have problems with is building the fire. Although, I do have a lot of motivation so I think I would keep trying until something got lit. =)
I do think it is slightly alarming that he talks to a volleyball covered in blood though. Oh well, to each their own I guess.

Today I sat outside in the sun for awhile and read. There is nothing better than reading on a lazy afternoon. I could use some new books though as I have re-read most of my books so many times at this point. Perhaps a trip to barnes and noble is due. Actually, not a bad idea.....

The Emerald City

So I spent the day in Seattle at a chiropractic conference yesterday. We left at 6:30 AM and were home by 10:00. It was a really worthwhile trip athough my body is paying for it right now. It's 9:04 and Tim and I are going to bed soon, I think. Anyhoo, back to the conference. It was really motivational and got me excited for the remainder of the year. We are doing a big promotion at the end of the year with charities and the food bank so I'm really looking forward to that. Plus, we are going to decorate the office for fall and those of you who have been to my apt know that I love decorating for seasons! I did take my camera yesterday, but I didn't take any pictures. We didn't have enough time to go to Pike Place Market but we did go to the downtown mall and walk around to kill time. I really enjoyed it but the weather was the pits!
However, I just bough a new equestrian riding jacket (as if I ride) from LL Bean which is super warm. I took my Burbs scarf as well and I was sweating =) (B, all I need now is shoes! =)) All in all, I think that it was a good time and totally worth it.

Tim and i had a nice morning. He went and got Starbucks for me as I was dragging. His parents came over for a bit to watch the 49ers game, which of course was very sad. I had to leave though as my, my mum and my aunt went to San Fran to Pier 39 to see "Menopause, The Musical". I know it sounds a bit odd but it was great. It was four women telling stories about their lives through popular music with the lyrics changed. I highly recommend you all take your moms to see it.

Speaking of moms, mine has been worried about me for the last week. I had a really draining work week and felt like crap by Friday. I also felt like I was complaining all the time, but it was just that I had so much on my mind that had to get out or else I would have gone crazy. Plus, I got all kinds of crazy hormones going on right now, if you know what I mean. =) So I'm feeling more positive now and I think this week will be a good one. I am trying to stay positive and practic separating what happens at the office from home. All doctors go through a transition period when they learn to separate themselves from their patients and office dramas. I think I just wasn't as good at it last week. Oh well, God gave us Mondays to make a fresh start.

At Last

Robin's dress was so gorgeous. Such the beaming bride!

This was taken post wedding and after several glasses of chapagne!

I know I'm not really smiling in this one, but I like it. =)

All in all, it was a wonderful wedding. The ceremony was very sweet and James started to cry when Robin came down the aisle with Rich. I love weddings! We danced like fiends all night. I was so happy because the DJ (same as my wedding) played Sexy Back (my new favorite song). We stayed at the deAnza afterwards with everyone and sat in the lobby until 1:00 just talking and hanging out. It was a really wonderful time.

On another note, Tim and I are off to hockey this friday. I'm going to get a new sweatshirt with my "shark pack" discount. Yippee! I have to say, the Sharks organization really takes care of their fans.

Anyhoo, it is time for my nightly bath and milk/cookie/chocolate combination. I'm looking for a new set of jammies too as the nights have turned cool. Hmmm..perhaps a trip to JC Penneys? Who's with me? =)

Rocket Man

Last night my mum, dad, Tim and I went to see Elton John at the Shark tank. It was freakin sweet. He played for almost 3 hours. It was a nice mix of old stuff and some new things off his upcoming album. I've certainly seen enough middle age dancing for awhile now. We'll be seeing him again in 3 weeks at Caesar's too. Can't wait for that show too. It's a slightly different set I think. I was really happy though because he played an extended version of Rocket Man which is my favorite Elton song. My mum got her dose of Philadelphia Freedom right at the beginning. It is her favorite song because she heard it in a McDonald's in Philidelphia when she and my dad first were coming to the US and she couldn't believe what an amazing place America was. I have been spoiled with all of my travels so I can't even fathom what it would be like to come to America from our tiny little town in England for the first time. =) Anyway, the show was great and I'm glad that we all got to go. It was funny though because there were religious protestors outside with megaphones and their "Jesus Forgives Sins" t-shirts spouting off about how we're all sinners for supporting a gay man. Whatever people. The man is entitled to his life and whatever makes him happy is okay with me. Elton John has been in a relationship that has lasted longer than most hetero relationships. So pardon me while I get on and off my soapbox, it's time for me to Crocodile Rock. Laaaa....la la la la laaaaaa, la la la la laaaaaaaa, la la la la laaaaaa! =)

At last, my love has come along

The groom and I take a breather while dancing.

Me, Kelley and her maid of honour Corrine

There were over 350 people at this wedding!

The beautiful bride

The ceremony outside in the botanical gardens.

Tim and I were very blessed to be able to go to Canada for this wedding. I always knew that I would see Kelley and Alex get married, but words can't describe what a feeling it was. The ceremony took place outside and the weather was beautiful. I was surprisingly tear-free through the ceremony and the ceremony was short but sweet. After that, we had a long break until the reception in the evening. Tim and I went back to the hotel and I caught up on some much needed sleep while Tim watched all of season 2 of Lost. He is completely caught up now, ready for the new season. =)

After our nap/Lost watching, we went down to get the party started. The dinner was fantastic. We had 5 courses! Of course, it was an Italian influenced event so you can imagine how tasty everything was. Like I said before, I was able to hold in the tears until I signed the guestbook. I think then it hit me that Kelley and I now don't know when we'll see in each other again. I always knew when she left last year that I would see her at my wedding and then at her wedding, but now....who knows. We have to get together to do some continuing education in Vegas or something along those lines. I can't go more than a year without seeing her. But it was really good that I was able to cry about it and then make peace with it. I know that she is where she is supposed to be. I was just lucky to have her in my life for 3 and half years. True friendship knows no boundaries or time zones or life changes. Seeing her again was just like the old times. I know that she and I will always be connected no matter how much distance separates us.

And in the end it's good to be home. Nothing is better than walking into your own space after you've been away. Like I said, Kelley is where she is supposed to be and I am too. It was just nice to be able to hug her, say I love you and I miss you. I said my peace. I am content. =)

Spendy Weekend

Tim and I had a nice weekend. We a great dinner on Friday night with my Boss/good friend from school. Then we introduced him to the world of video games and I think we may have converted him. =)
Yesterday we went to Tim's parents for breakfast and then went to Best Buy to get AD3 as Tim's dealer was late on sending it. It was great to watch the DVD's but sad to think the show is really over. Nothing much to look forward to now.
Today we went to my parents house and went to Target and Ulta to get some bits and pieces we needed. I love errand running days.
So the spendyness came in on friday. I went to Nordstroms with my mum to look for a shirt to wear to Kelley's wedding this weekend. However, I found more than one shirt that I liked by Nine West. Of course, they were a little on the pricey side, but hey, I've never really bought expensive clothes before. Plus, one of the shirts was a medium! Ha! All my exercising has really paid off. I don't think that I've lost that much weight, but my body is definitely reshaped now. Woot. (Of course this weekend I did no exercising and ate fast food about 3 times. EEK) Back to the drawing board tomorrow.

More than meets the eye

Tim and I are watching the Transformers movie. That's right. The MOVIE. He just sang along to one of the soundtrack songs. It almost made him cry. Me too, for different reasons of course. My husband is a child.

My new phone

Here is my new phone. I was thinking about upgrading soon anyway, but then I got a thing in the mail saying since I'm such a loyal customer I could get a new phone for 15 bucks after rebate. Of course they think that I won't bother with rebates, but I always do and I always get my money back. Anyway, I bought a bluetooth headseat as well because I am always on the phone. Plus, now B and I can be bluetooth buddies and walk around in public places like fools =)

Beyond that, Tim and I ran errands today. We went to Target, got his hair cut, got booze from BevMo, new phone and then I went and got my nails and eyebrows done. I am sitting here with an ice pack on my brows as we speak in hope that the redness will go down soon. Ah the joys of being a whitey.

we have a new air con!

Tim and I have a new air conditioner. It only took about 3 months of phone calls, but we now have a great new air con. It has a remote! We are having our carpets cleaned in September has well. The apartment is going to be nice and clean and updated for the people that move in after we leave. =)

Tonight's Netflix includes The Man, Flight Plan and V for Vendetta. My online system for work is messed up right now, so it's going to be a long evening. However, nothing better than some good grub, movies and time to do work. =)

At least I got the timing right today

Today my pals and I went to Great America to celebrate Bianca's birthday. At least I showed up on the right day. Those of you who read my last blog entry will realize that I thought we were going on Saturday. Ha Ha. Oh well. It was one of those "moments". =)

Tim and I just watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. What a great movie. I highly recommend that you all put it in your queue. A little action, comedy and Robert Downey Jr. Yum. Now we are watching Firewall. Harrison Ford is about to go apeshit I think. He just beat somebody down with a blender. He's rough like that (although looking slightly old). Oh yeah...he's super rough.

My nap today was only for about 10 minutes, unfortch. I fell asleep at the beginning of Firewall but then Tim touched my leg and I woke up. I'll have to go to bed soon to make up for my napping time I missed today. ZZZZZZZZ =)

Kona Krunch

I enjoy macadamia nuts as much as the next person. However, when you cover them with chocolate and rice krispy treats and bring them back from Hawaii, I think they just taste better. One of the girls that I work with at my work comp job just got back from vacay and brought the tasty nuts back with her. I've had about 5 already tonight. They are so damn good. Plus, nuts have good fats in them, right? =)

Tim is currently pleased as his is killing the undead. (He loathes the undead) However, the game is being cheap and he almost had a "Lost" type breakdown. No controllers have been thrown at the screen yet.....yet. He is still working out the bugs, so to speak.

I received my super size Glamour in the mail today and I can't wait to get cracking at it. I must get in the bath with my Kona Krunch and glass of milk and read. Tim thinks it's weird that I eat in the bath. But I say, why not eat in the bath. If you spill, it all goes down the drain. Plus, I have lovely bath gels to play with as well that make the experience all the more fun. My dad just stayed at the Peadbody hotel in Florida where they have ducks that live in the lobby and walk around freely (Somebody must have the job title, duck shit cleaner upper, as ducks shit a lot!) and he brought me back about 5 little duck soaps and 5 bottles of duckie bath gel. I'm looking forward to using it tonight. It's time for "a good do" I think, as we say in England. That means a good wash and scrub and moisturize etc...everyone deserves a good do every now and then. =)

In conclusion, I would just like to say that I'm glad Wednesday is over. Last week was a little too exhausting for me and my back has been playing up today. It's amazing how many Chiros have to quit the biz early due to back injury. However, I did get adjusted right before I left for the evening so maybe a nice warm bath will finish me of. I do have some more work to do, but I always feel more refreshed after my bath. I'm looking forward to celebrating Bee's b-day this weekend and I'm looking forward to my nap on Sunday. That's right, I plan my naps. You should all try it. In fact, your goal for this weekend is to plan a nap at some point in time. (Except for Eric and Chris who should be partying like rock stars in Vegas with Celine. You can sleep on the plane =)) Peace out homies.

Anniversary weekend

So this weekend was our 1 year wedding anniversary. It seems strange that we've been married for a year already as time has passed by so quickly.

We were driving in the car the other day and I was talking about work with Tim and how this week is going to be rough because I am running the practice for 4 days. Tim then paused and said can I believe where I am right now? It seems like such a long time ago that I was so depressed about my life and crying everyday not knowing what was going to happen to me. Now, I have an awesome stable job and couldn't be happier. Interesting how life changes so quickly.

Anyway, Tim and I stayed at Santana Row at Hotel Valencia last night. We checked in to a gorgeous room and then proceeded to watch the free HBO like the dorks that we are. After that, we went to the Vintage Wine Bar and sat outside and had some wine and a meat and cheese platter. I would have never thought that Tim would have ever been happy to sit out at Santana Row with all the other posers and ponces and metrosexuals, but he was kind enough to partake last night. We then decided to go see Clerks II at CineArts. Now I enjoy the Kevin Smith very muchly, however, there were some moments in this film (discussions of "ass to mouth" sexuality and a scene with "inter-species erotica") that I could have done without. However, it was mostly just good fun and fitting as Tim and I love Jay and Silent Bob.

After the movie, we went to the Left Bank for dinner. It was very nice although we ate way too much food and had a ton of drinks. It was fun though and I kept on reminding myself that it was money well spent due to the significance of the event. Also, the gift for the first anniversary is paper, which money is made out, of so i think that that somehow works out ok.

In the end we had a wonderful anniversary. Tim got me a totally rockin stereo for my car that runs my iPod from the glove compartment. I got Tim and new Sharks jersey that he's been wanting. Overall, I think that it was a great weekend. Today after checkout we came home and watched Red Eye and now we're going to watch the Island.

Oh yeah, I also booked us a trip to Vegas with my parents in October to go see Elton John at Caesar's. We've been trying to do this for over a year so i finally just said I'm doing it, we'ere going. Anyway, I got a super sweet deal on Expedia for two nights at Paris and flight for 411 per person. Expedia is my friend. We are flying to Canada for Kelley's wedding with Expedia. I rented a car with them as well. Love the discount travel.

As a side note, my last post was about how we were going to watch Lost. Unfortunately, ABC has decided to put on some singing, American idol wannabe show and not show Lost re-runs anymore. I thought Tim was going to break the TV he had such a fit. He has turned into one of you all...you know who you are =)

Anyway, that's all for now. I must try to convince Tim to stop killing the Nazi's that he's been working on all day (XBOX 360). Wish me luck!

America's got talent

Wednesday night has fast become talent competition night on television. Every station has some kind of talent show...dancing, rockstaring, talenting etc. Of course Tim and I just watch all this stuff to waste time until Lost starts (since Tim has become a convert). Once cannot miss the high def broadcast of Lost. (Insert sarcasm here).

Incidentally, we watched Closer the other night. Talk about an f-ed up movie. Holy crap. How that film was every a play...I don't know. Anyway, I love Clive Owen so I could enjoy his performance, but I wouldn't recommend the movie if you are looking for a light evening of entertainment.

Tim and I just finished dinner and I think I will make some cookies tonight. I feel like baking a bit..=)

movie night

Tim and I just watched the Transporter 2. It's a pretty good action adventure movie and not really that violent. Plus, Jason Statham is pretty cute, I must say. Now we are moving on to Closer. It is rated R for graphic sexuality and such. Hmm...better than graphic violence, I say.

We had dinner with my parents at the Macaroni Grill tonight. They have some good grub there. I highly recommend it. =)

I had to go to work today for about 5 hours. It was totally worth it though as we got a lot of work done. I have several insurance/billing projects to do this week, but I think it will make this week go by quickly. Nothing better than a quickly passing week.

In addition, I have to give a birthday shout out to Sarah. Happy Birthday, and many more...on channel 4...and scooby doo....on channel 2 and so on and so forth.

Wedding etc.

So here are the new pictures from Cheri's wedding.
I apologize for my laxity with posting, but I vow to be better in the future. =)

Chris and Eric looking fab as always!

This is a dangerous foursome....=)

Anyway, the wedding was really beautiful and we had a super time. The hotel we stayed at was really nice and I especially enjoyed it as the chair in our room was Burberry. I tried to steal it but I think they would have noticed and I can't really afford a 3,000 dollar chair right now...so best that Tim stopped me from hauling it down to my car.

Yesterday I went to see The Devil Wears Prada with my girls (Sar and B). It was cute but very different from the book. That is always to be expected though, as books are ALWAYS better than the movies. After the film, we took a stroll around the Great Mall. We all wound up purchasing some good stuff. I'm especially happy as I got two new pairs of jeans. Let me just say that shopping for pants is pretty much torture for me. If I wind up going to hell, my punishment will be shopping for pants. In this day and age, everything is low rise. However, they don't take into account that sometimes, those of us with a short torso need a higher rise. My waist is techinically almost up by my boobs. =) Ha Ha. Anyway, I got two new pairs of Calvin Klein jeans that are very comfy and fit well. I will have to stretch them out a bit though, as one always does when one buys new pants. Last night I put them on and did the usual squat to the floor, leg stretches and rolling around on the bed that I'm sure most of you girls out there can relate to. However, I think that the more I wear them, the looser they will be. Did you know that you are not supossed to wash denim unless there is an actual spill on them? It keeps them comfy for much longer. Of course you must wash them if you are stinky, but girls usually are not.

The world cup final is almost over. It's in the 68th minute. I'm not really rooting for either side as England was sent home by Portugal (Grr...Chris). We have to hate the frogs as that is what the English do, however, so many of them play for clubs in England and Zidane is so old that I wish he could retire with a championship. On the other hand, Italy is a good club and I'm sure Kelley and Alex are rooting for them with all their heart =)

So, I'm going to finish my giant coffee I got from Krispy Kreme this morning. Their coffee is not that bad and is about 3 times as big as Starbucks. It's a vat really...but what the hell, it's Sunday. Plus, I'm wearing my exercise clothes that I don't exercise in..so I may as well take it to the max and drink coffee and doughnuts to top off the day of non-excercise. So, if any of you are out there wearing your exercise clothes that you don't exercise in, go get yourself a vat of coffee, a doughnut and sit on the couch. Believe me, you'll love it. =)
